Sweet and salty. Hot and Sour. Sometimes it just makes sense to put together two dissimilar, yet things we enjoy and smash them together for sometimes even better! As a fiber artist we pick up skills along our journey and often our excitement gains when we can combine these skills to create one-of-a-kind pieces that will wow your family and friends. In this course Sara will guide you through the design and planning process of creating a fabulous warp-faced rug with the organic quality elements only achieved through hand dying.
Join Sara as she takes you through the planning and dyeing of a hand painted warp that will be used to dress your loom in combination with solid colored warp threads to create dynamic, and bold patterning. One the second day looms will be dressed, and students will be guided through the warping process, tips and tricks given to give you the confidence to tackle a large-scale project with ease.
All materials included with tuition.
Schedule is slightly modified for this class. The first day lecture begins at 1:00PM and the remaining 4 days start at 9:00AM.
Sara is the owner and resident instructor of Red Stone Glen Fiber Arts Center. Many of Sara’s students praise her ability to guide students through the challenging world of color theory, specifically relating to weaving.
