Dates: June 18, 2021 - June 18, 2021
Cost per ticket: $125.00
If you have never tried to dye your own yarn but are intrigued by the idea of creating your own unique skeins, here is the workshop for you. We will explain the basics of home dyeing. Although you will need very few items, it’s important to know and use the proper equipment. We’ll make skeins of wool, silk, and mohair yarns and prepare them for the dye bath. Then it is pure fun and creativity as you use both Cushing and Procion MX dyes and will learn to mix dyes to make new shades and colors. Students will also make multicolored skeins by dipping and directly painting dye onto skeins. We will show you how unrelated colors can be made to work together by introducing a new color family by the technique of over-dyeing. All materials included with tuition.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.
For class dates that are full, please feel free to call us here at the studio and have your name place on the wait list.
