How do you take a simple one-color scarf, table runner, or curtain and make it something special and unique? This class helps to answer that question. Students will weave a sampler on a pre-warped floor loom, experimenting with Danish medallions, pile weaves, crow’s feet, adding beads, hem stitching variations and many more techniques. Looms will be prepared with 3/2 Perle cotton and weft threads will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring along any novelty threads, but this is not required. The workshop will highlight uses of tools such as pick-up sticks, netting shuttles, crochet hooks, and using multiple shuttles at the same time. Students should be familiar with the basic operation of a loom and have basic experience in weaving plain weave fabrics. This workshop is a great way to add some astonishing new techniques to your weaving repertoire.
All materials are included in tuition. Please let the office know if you wish to take this class on a rigid heddle or floor loom.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.
