Cost per ticket: $550.00

About Class

You may have woven bands before; inkle, backstrap and even box woven, but have you ever experienced the joy to weaving bands on a Scandanavian Band loom? During this workshop we will be exploring the Glimakra Band loom. With it’s affordable price and ease of use, you can see why weavers are so excited to get their hands on these. Student will be introduced during the workshop on how to plan and execute projects such as ribbons and bands up to 5” wide to add that decorative touch to your projects. We will also discuss how to weave warp faced fabrics for bookmarks, straps, leashes and collars, or even narrow scarves! There are many opportunities for creativity. This fun little loom would make an excellent addition to any weaver’s collection. If you are shopping for your first loom, a Band Loom is a great entry for new weavers.

Students will also be encourage to combine other skills they may have to expand this loom’s potential. The loom can be set up for Inkle weaving and card weaving, or used as a 2 shaft loom with Texsolv heddles.  During our time together students will have an opportunity to plan, warp and weave two to three projects, including finishing.

This workshop will be available to both in person and virtual classroom instruction. For those choosing to study from home we will be sure to ship out your loom, all projects materials and handouts 4-weeks prior to the workshop for no additional charge. Take a chance and try out your new favorite loom!

All materials INCLUDING the loom are included in tuition.
