Monk’s Belt on the Inkle Loom

Dates: December 7, 2023 - December 8, 2023

Cost per ticket: $285.00

About Class

Inkle weaving can be a fun way to explore fabric making without the need for a large, expensive loom. However, after weaving a few simple pieces students are often asking themselves, “what next?” and looking towards some more advanced pattern making techniques possible on their inkle loom. If you’re ready to take on a few new simple skills or draw on previous experiences join Sara as you explore a fun structure called Monk’s belt.

In this course Sara will introduce you to a new way to create more dramatic patterning with the use of supplemental warp threads in the warp. She will guide you through the planning process where you will be given suggestions for materials, learn how to calculate for a desired width and length as well as some helpful color theory pointers. Students will also be taken through the warping process start to finish and guided through the weaving process. Feel free to bring one of your own looms or borrow one of ours during your time here. Students must have working knowledge and experience on the inkle loom, as this class will be building on basic fundamental skills.

All materials are included with your tuition.
