Step back from the stress of daily life and join us for Mindful Weaving. Studies show that fiber work such as weaving and knitting can help to ease stress, lower blood pressure and promote wellbeing.
The repetitive, rhythmic action of weaving helps to calm busy brains by keeping both the hands and mind engaged in a meditative state. We’ll be providing a well-rounded introduction to various meditative approaches such as visual, sound and olfactory.
Mindful Weaving will focus on self care throughout, encouraging us to be present in both movement and moment.
The goal of the class is to foster a calmer mindset. Not a project-based workshop, we’ll accomplish this with simple yardage, using breath and loom to move us into a place of relaxed wellbeing in both mind and body.
No weaving experience needed for this class.
Plan for both indoor and outdoor experiences to get the full benefits of this Mindful Weaving workshop.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.
For class dates that are full, please feel free to call us here at the studio and have your name place on the wait list.
This class's instructor
Sara is the owner and resident instructor of Red Stone Glen Fiber Arts Center. Many of Sara’s students praise her ability to guide students through the challenging world of color theory, specifically relating to weaving.
Warps of white calm the senses and allow our minds to function free from thought.
Allow yourself to explore our outside space to listen to bird songs, the babbling creek or the wind in the trees.
