During this 2-hour presentation we will discuss in great detail some of the alternative technique to wet finish your woven fabrics. A large part of this presentation is geared to give students the confidence to make educated decision about the finishing based upon their unique project. We will discuss how to determine what temperatures we should be washing, recommended products based upon the fiber content. Participants will watch several demonstrations where they will be introduced to a few tools that they may want to add to their weaver’s tool chest to move the job along more smoothly. Because we love history and how it helped shape our modern civilization, we will discuss how weavers of the past did things and the similarities of how we do things today… and how we’ve improved upon them. Please join us as we roll up our sleeves for this casual conversation and demonstration where we help lighten the uncertainty of the last and perhaps most crucial step of the fabric making process. Let’s wet finish some fabric with confidence.
