There are some folks that are put in our periphery that you can’t stop and take notice of. The body of work woven by Theo Moorman is nothing short of inspiring and inventive. Join us for a 2-hour evening presentation of the structure that gave weavers a freedom to work in a more painterly approach to image making without leaving the comfort of their structure-based style of weaving. During our time together we will take a look into the life of Theo Moorman and the works she produced for both private and public installations. We will look at some drafting notations and unique characteristics of yarn and color choices. Participants will be given a demonstration of a basic loom setup and weaving of a freeform design on a plain weave foundation. This presentation is structured for all levels of weaving and available to those working on rigid heddle, or 4+ multi-harness looms. This is the next on your “I have to weave this” list.
This is a 2 hour online lecture starting at 6:00PM.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.
For class dates that are full, please feel free to call us here at the studio and have your name place on the wait list.
