Beginning Spinning

Dates: February 28 - February 28

Cost per ticket: $175.00

About Class

Our 1 day beginners course covers all the basics to get you started. Learn about different types of wools and their uses for different styles of yarn, the process of washing raw wool and even how to add color.

Students will then be introduced to different fiber preparations including how to prepare worsted and woolen yarns using wool combs, drum carders and hand carders. After you have spun a sufficient amount of singles yarn, you learn how to ply them together to make suitable yarns for knitting or weaving. Students can use our studio wheels, but are encouraged to bring their own wheel if they already have one in working order.

We can also pair you with a wheel that best suits you that you may want to buy! We’re an authorized dealer for Ashford, Kromski, Lendrum, Louet and Schacht.

All materials included with tuition.
