Twill Double Weave Blankets

Dates: March 4 - March 8

Cost per ticket: $585.00

About class

If you have enjoyed making plain weave double width blankets, this class is a logical next step. With an eight-shaft loom, students can weave a number of different twill patterns in double weave, including straight twill, point twill, rosepath, and diamond twills. Students will learn the theory behind the techniques, and will be guided through development of a threading draft for their project.

Materials are not included, but will be available for purchase or students may also choose to bring their own materials. Tom would suggest yarn that isn’t too stretchy and would work up to 8-10 EPI.

If you’re using a yarn that’s 10 EPI, you’d need approximately 1500-1600yds for warp and 600yds for weft. If your yarn is 8 EPI, you can use approximately 1100yds for the warp and 500yds for the weft.

These are suggestions and Tom would OVER compensate the yardage depending on how you want to lay them out or what type of pattern that you wish.
