The timeless beauty of traditional Scottish tartans are so appealing, and weaving tartan patterns is great fun. Each student will weave a small blanket/lap robe in wool on a pre-warped loom, to be finished at the end of class with a Waulking of the Wool. We will also engage in discussion of Tartan history and instruction in translating tartan setts into warp plans.
Students may request a specific tartan or a red/blue/green tartan.
All materials are included with your tuition.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.

Melissa is a traditional hand-weaver and spinner with 36 years of experience working on antique equipment to produce 18th and 19th century style textiles.
