Overshot Shawls

Dates: May 3, 2022 - May 6, 2022

Cost per ticket: $495.00

About class

Here’s a contemporary twist to a recognizable historic weave-structure! This shawl is arranged in a gamp format with five classic patterns threaded across the width of the warp. The patterns include Cat Track & Snail Trail, Wheel of Fortune, Blooming Leaf, Maltese Cross and Mary Ann Ostrander. Each pattern is threaded with a different color in the warp and these colors are also used in the tabby weft making this an advanced class. As you weave each pattern to its true treadling, you will also get new patterns in the other threaded pattern areas. The overshot shawl is not only visually beautiful to look at but is also a lot of fun to weave.

Each student will weave on a pre-warped loom threaded with 10/2 Perle Cotton in their choice of pre-selected colors. These color ways include; Caribbean Water (blues and greens), Berry Patch (blues, purples, & reds), Woodlands (browns, dark greens, beige & moss green), Birch Bark (browns black, natural, & gray ), Red Rocks (rust, wine, browns & coral), Red Hot (wine, red, orange, & gold) Meadows & Glens (green, yellow green & blue green) Grey Gardens (green, purple, brown & coral) and Sand Scape (pink and naturals). An email with these colors will be sent out to students eight weeks prior to the class, making pre-registration a must.

All materials included with tuition.
