Profile drafting is a way of noting where a pattern will appear on your fabric. What it doesn’t do is tell you how to thread your loom. Confusing isn’t it? When you see a profile draft illustrated along with a threading draft, it sometimes looks or resembles a threading draft because uses darkened squares in a graph. When you see multiple darkened blocks repeated in a row you are looking at a profile draft.
Let us show you how to use a profile draft to design and weave your fabrics and rugs. We will show you how to assign a weave structure to a profile draft such as Summer and Winter or a Turned Twill. We will also show you what structures work with profile drafts and others that will not work. This will hopefully be a game changing moment in your understanding of how textiles work.
Come join us and explore the possibilities of weaving many fabrics on a pattern.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.
