Dates: June 27 - June 28

Cost per ticket: $285.00

About Class

Ever wanted to learn more in depth details about various fleeces? This is the class for you!

In this 2-day class you’ll start with examining 8 different fleeces from Leicester long wool
to Wensleydale to Navajo Churro in their character, how they were selected and what are the
finished possibilities for felting. In addition, we will discuss other methods such as spinning,
knitting, weaving for these breeds. We will then properly clean and prepare wool for dyeing from each
breed and discuss the process and then choose several types, including greys for natural dyeing.
These wools will be naturally dyed so we can learn best methods of dyeing fleece, then
compare and use the following day in our project.

On the second day we will move on to the wet felting process with an overview (both wet and needle) and then proceed to wet felt a 3-D piece choosing and incorporating several types of fleeces to create this sculptural felted vessel. Learn how each breed felts and interacts in all the processes and get the best tips and shortcuts for felting from the master herself!
