Have you ever longed for one of those BIG beautiful textured throws shown draped over the back of a chair in a magazine, this is your chance. Double Weave is a clever technique that allows you to weave two separate layers of plain weave fabric at the same time on a 4 shaft loom. By carefully maintaining the treadling and shuttle direction you can close the one selvage creating a double width fabric. When you have finished weaving and open it up your blanket will be approximately twice the weaving width of your loom. During the class, students will learn the basic fundamentals of Double Weave and then warp a loom using our easy chain warp method. Materials are not provided for this class. Yarns are available for purchase for use in class or students may bring their own.
All classes run 9am - 5pm unless otherwise indicated in the description above.
For class dates that are full, please feel free to call us here at the studio and have your name place on the wait list.
