Temari Stitching for All

We are so grateful to have in our fold here at Red Stone Glen, not only an amazing cast of characters from our student population, but also our teachers. For many year Jen Weber who teaches our Temari curriculum has wowed her students with the ability to bring such a beautiful art form with its’ seemingly complicated stitching patterns to life and make it accessible to all students regardless of their skill level.

Beyond her intro to Temari class Jen has taught a range of different skills through individual classes. However we have recently had some time to sit down and redesign her course offerings and an idea that came across the table was a course for her next level students that would give them the option to choose the next skill they would like to develop. This is very similar to our ever popular Warp & Weave class often described as the one room school house of weaving. Each student can work one-on-one with the instructor to fine tune their skill all whilst the other students get to live vicariously through your planning and execution. This leads to inspirational project planning for some students, or simply an opportunity to observe and perhaps explore later.

For those of you who have been introduced to Temari previously, if you’re stumped looking for the next way to take your temari skills further. Maybe you just need a little refresher to get back into stitching. Or perhaps you have patterns that have got you stumped? Consider joining Jen for an informal but very educational three days of Open Studio Temari Stitching. You will get hands-on guidance on whatever aspect of your stitching that you’d like to improve upon. Each student will work towards their own goals that they set themselves, no matter what their level of experience is. Bring along unfinished balls, patterns, books, and questions for anything you’d like to work on, as well as a few prepared bases and your stitching tools. (Pearl cotton size 5/2 stitching thread will be available at the studio). After registering, Jen will be in contact with you prior to the class to define your goals.   Be prepared to learn a LOT, and have a very fun time stitching.

Currently we are offering two new dates for this class
