Anne Marie Decker
Anne Marie Decker grew up surrounded by fiber arts. Nalbinding captured her imagination in 1991. Five years later she found someone to teach her the basics. She’s been exploring and teaching ever since. Her interest in history quickly led her to discover that the variation she was taught originally did not match those she was seeing in the archeological record. Thus began her quest to find all the ancient variants; not just those of Scandinavia but from all over the world. Her interest in the history of the technique and in teaching have led her to present several papers at the International Medieval Congress and write two instruction manuals: The Asle Mitten Stitch and Nalbinding Made Easy.
