Double Weave Bags

About class

Most weavers are familiar with double weave as a double-width fabric, and as blocks of a reversible pattern. In this class, students will create a double weave tube that will serve as a tote bag. Using cotton carpet warp as the warp and cut fabric strips as the weft, students will weave an attractive bag that can be used as a shoulder bag, shopping bag, or a protective case for your laptop computer. Students will learn the fundamentals of double weave and will design a warp for their bag. Each student will warp their loom under supervision and learn many weaving techniques and options for finishing your bag.
